On 27 September the African Super Cup was played between 2 Egyptian clubs, and 6 days ago the winner was handed with the biggest financial penalty of the confederation.
Two players from Zamalek have received punishments of three matches: one of them (or the scorer in normal time) have celebrated improperly before the opposing fans, while the other was signaling to his teammates to leave the terrain. During the match the club has threatened to leave the pitch after a controversial penalty was awarded in the first half for their rivals. Because of this incident the club is punished with a huge fine of 300,000 dollars (277,340 euros). Knowing that winning of the entire Super Cup competition costs 500,000 dollars (462,234 euros), the above sum is considered as one of the greatest penalty ever issued at the confederation. If this is repeated in the current international competitions, another 100,000 dollars (92,447 euros) will be activated and must be delivered to the organization.
