Suspended footballer

Finally the saga about the Italian player has ended with removal from this sport. Sandro Tonali has admitted that he has a problem with gambling on football games at illegal online platforms, thus he is suspended on 10 months out of which 8 will be replaced with alternative treatment from betting. On top of that, he had to pay (miserable) 20.000 euros because of breaching the code of ethics to the Italian football association.

This ban for the 23-year-old is valid internationally, so he can not come back and play official game until 27 August 2024.

Global event would be played on three continents

It is only a matter of time where every country in the globe simultaneously will have to host the World Cup (meaning that qualifiers for the same event might be omitted).

Instead of giving the 2030 to one continent or country / countries, on 04 October the world football organization has announced that the final tournament is going to be staged in three confederations. To mark the 100 year birth of the competition South America would kick off the event, and those six 'lucky' teams who will play the first three games in Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina would have to travel all over to the other side of the globe to finish what it started. Because of the 'closeness' with Morocco, Portugal and Spain the sextet would have 12 to 13 days rest before the second group phase matches.

For the first time three continents and the six mentioned nations would organize the most significant event of this sport from 08 June until 21 July or the edition number 24 will last of up to 43 nights in 7 years time. But, this excessively stupid idea still has to be officially confirmed at the Congress (somewhere) in 2024.

Betting as a serious problem among players

Apart from getting millions and millions of wages some 'very smart' players are going one step further: betting on games. From last and this week two Italian greedy footballers who are playing in different clubs, have been accused of violation in this sport.

On 11 October the prosecutor of Torino has confirmed that Nicolo Fagioli is under investigation for online betting. The 22-year-old Juventus midfielder which used illegal platform, is connected to a criminal investigation together with another unidentified suspects. If this story proved to be correct then he will be suspended of at least three years plus paying a fine of 25.000 euros. Italian association have a basic rule that says that betting on football duels among players is strictly forbidden, but are allowed to gamble on other stuff.

Not nine days have passed his compatriot Sandro Tonali has found himself in the same trouble as the Newcastle midfielder was formally placed under investigation from the Italian football association. He will not play for the club until this case is solved.

Half time result stand as a complete one

Today the European football organization have announced three decisions concerning one team and two club tournaments.

- On Monday Belgium and Sweden has mutually agreed to abandon their game which was part of the qualifiers for the European championship 2024 because of a shooting in the centre of Brussels where two visiting supporters lost their lives. This match was called off at half time and whatever happened in the first 45 minutes is the overall result, thus this pair is registered as 1:1.

- For the time being the security situation in Israel does not look very good, so the two Maccabi clubs have to play their home international matches elsewhere (on neutral terrain). Also two postponements have been occurred:

1) The Europa league pair between Villarreal and Maccabi Haifa that had to be played on 26 October is rescheduled to 06 December.

2) Maccabi Tel Aviv - Zorya who also had to meet at 26 October is now moved to [a new (unusual) date] 25 November from the Conference league event.
