Disobedient spectator

Horrible accident happened last Friday night at the second Bundesliga in Germany. In search of a better view of his beloved visiting team, a spectator fell down from an approximately three metre high wall during Darmstadt and Dynamo Dresden game. The unlucky 36-year-old man has climbed the barrier despite several calls from the speaker throughout the match who warned the fans not to do that. Weekend has passed and up until tonight he is still in a critical condition at a hospital.

First female commissioner to be present in joint qualifiers

After the summer break, the international elimination matches will be back (on a team level), and from now it is already known that one of those duels is going to enter history books.
More and more female officials can be seen in male football. It all started in May for one confederation, where the trio of ladies from Japan refereed an important game from the AFC Cup, and now this same region is going one step further.
With the confirmation from the world football organization, the Asian continent now has the first 4 female commissioners: Nguyen Thanh Ha (Vietnam), Lau Cheuk Chi (Hong Kong), Kanya Keomany (Laos), together with Kim Se-In (South Korea) who is going to be responsible for the World Cup 2022 / Asian Cup 2023 elimination game between Guam and Maldives on 05 September.
Having the world license the first 3 names can be also picked at a later stage for the events. Validating this quartet has a purpose to promote women football throughout Asia.

24 August 2019

Played partially without any spectators

At one Europa league duel yesterday night was ordered to play behind closed doors...but not entirely.
With two matches without spectators, last Monday the European football organization has punished Partizan because of (supposedly) racist chants as a main reason. Allegedly the home fans (when the Serbian club played Malatyaspor in the third qualifying round) behaved inappropriately towards the visiting footballer Mitchell Donald. Thus one penalty the club already did on Thursday night, while the other will be either in group phase or at qualifiers next season before an empty stadium. However, this stadium was not completely empty. The organization has allowed youth footballers from the well known Partizan school to attend the game. All these kids were accompanied by their coaches and parents.
Along for racist behavior, a fine of 24.250 euros was also issued together with blocked stairways, fireworks and throwing various objects on the pitch.

Avoiding hard punishment thanks by admitting the guilt

If the club acknowledge its mistake, then the penalty will be softer. That exactly happened to Manchester City, who confessed bringing youth players under 18 years of age to the team. Despite this severe violation the world football organization six days ago said that the English champions can still bring new footballers, but had to say good-bye to 370.000 Swiss francs (339.948 euros).

Revealed three names for different types of awards

We are getting used to it that on each group phase draw for the European Cup competition are going to be announced the best players for the last season. This year is going to be the same although various awards will be given. List of names of only three players was released last Thursday by the European football organization, thus each of this trio hopes to win the prize for the following events:
Champions league is searching for the best positional footballer in this sport. At each 4 places (goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and striker) 3 names have been chosen, and all 12 can be seen on the website of the organization. The final winners are going to be known on 29 August in Monaco.
Also at the same city, but in the ceremony on 30 August Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic and Olivier Giroud are competing for the best Europa league player of 2018-19 season.

Losing his job due to a stupidity

Being a professional player for most (ordinary) people is a dream come true, but for some this job looks like a joke.
(Now the former) Olympique Marseille defender Adil Rami wanted more to have fun rather than playing football. He told the club that has an (serious) injury and instead of resting at home, the 33-year-old had other ideas and was spotted how he wrestles in the mud on a French reality television show. Therefore, this Monday he was immediately dismissed from the club, who at first hid the real reason of the suspension, but thanks to the local media the cover up was quickly discovered.
