Judgements were being way too soft

Eleven days ago the Switzerland accusers have appealed the sentence at the Federal criminal court against three people: for one former and present officials, together with a corrupt businessman, that was issued on 30 October 2020.
On that date an ex-secretary general in the world football organization Jerome Valcke received a suspended sentence of three months and had to deliver 1.35 million Swiss francs (1.26 million euros) to the same affiliation that he worked for and where later was fired from it in 2016. At 2013 he became a (proud) owner of an luxury villa on a Italian island that was bought with the help of Nasser al-Khelaifi. Together they developed a scheme of how to deceive the public concerning World Cup broadcasting rights by falsifying documents for Italy and Greece. Cheating could not be completed without Dinos Deris executive at a Greek marketing agency.
For the above criminal activity prosecutors wants all three to be locked up, while the last two names have been cleared of any charges.

Limited number of plays

At the end of March has to start various qualifying matches for the World Cup 2022 event. However, from 19 February it is announced that many of them from the Asian continent are cancelled, and the reason is much more obvious of why this is happening. These are together with elimination duels for the Asian Cup 2023 as well, which after this notice it is more clear that the schedule is way behind. Everyone is trying to find a solution to this problem, thus new gaming calendar have to come up from the range of 31 May and up until 15 June, and one of the suggestions is (again) gathering and playing at one location (like the international club tournaments).
Because travel restrictions in some parts between the countries are still in place, games for next month and June will be more than halved. From 88 expected duels (22 taken from each match nights), four of them got the green light to go ahead, or divided: three are going to be played from seventh, while one will be from the eighth match night. The mini table with local kick offs, duels and places from groups B, D and F can be found on the confederation website from the above mentioned date.

Different phases and meaning of games

On the last week of this month European Cups tournaments are back and for the first time both of them will begin on two nights. Because of the well known health problem on the continent, three hosts are forced to shift their matches onto a foreign country. For the following 20 pairs 3 kick off times are expected to start.

The last four duels have to be played of the round 16 from the Champions league event with the first 90 minutes. Equally divided, each one of them will be staged over two nights.

Remembering group phase matches that were played last year

Last week the European football confederation has opened a formal investigation into a suspended duel that happened two months ago, and financially punished two clubs where one of them has participated on another tournament last year. All of the above three cases have being occurred at the group stage of both events.
On 11 February the case was (finally) opened on a mysterious incident that happened 09 December 2020 at an empty stadium. That night PSG and Basaksehir have entertained each other at their last game from the Champions league where nor 13 minutes have passed when the visiting assistant coach have heard a forbidden racist word. As not a single spectator was present at the arena, the strangest thing is that that expression came from the fourth official. Hence Sebastian Constantin Coltescu will be thoroughly 'investigated' due to lack of respect couple of months after the match.
Day later, the affiliation has extracted money from the cashbox of two Russian teams who are now competing at Europa league. Because on 08 December 2020 Krasnodar arrived very late to the Champions league duel against Chelsea, the club had to pay 15.000 euros fine. Five thousand euros less had to deliver CSKA Moscow for the reason that their fans were provoking and insulting the Feyenoord players from a game that occurred 26 November 2020.

20 February 2021

Italian club have foreign investor

At 2008 Gabriele Volpi bought Spezia when it was competing in Serie D, under his guidance at 2019-20 season came the first ever appearance in Serie A after 114 years of its history, while from 11 February 2021 the club is in new hands. Majority of shares and for an undisclosed amount, Robert Platek became the fresh investor who together with Philip will assist his brother as vice president of the team. Local media speculates with the number of 22 million euros which also are saying that the price may be even lower if the American owners fails to keep the top division status and be relegated in lower league.

Masters of getting and signing new deals

An highly great success of Football marketing Asia just continues, where basically every week is bringing new deals on behalf of its confederation. Club and team competitions from Asia are very popular on the continent and beyond who from now on are going to be widen and closely watched on three fresh markets, and what is more interesting all the following couple of agreements came in a space of only 24 hours.
On 08 February, a first ever, and non-stop sport channel owned by Bashundhara group in Bangladesh snatched the rights to show top and main football from the continent. Started at November 2020, the mostly young domestic and satellite channel T sports (Titas sports) has enriched its program which is going to present its audience with a debut content in the nation.
Just one day later, the television platform C more grabbed the rights to show all the major games in Scandinavia. This deal is not for every country in that region, but for Sweden and Finland.
Viewers, who will definitely be increased, in each of the three states are going to watch team and club tournaments from the same period: beginning from 2021 and ending in 2024.

15 February 2021

Subsidiary company has just prolonged its contract

Big firm from Japan plus the Asian football confederation equals great success.
From last Monday of January, the Konami digital entertainment company limited (part of the Konami group) only signed an extension to the already old agreement for another four years. As exclusive partners with the mentioned affiliation, the licensing deal would only continue to appear in their gaming and amusement business portfolio from 2021 until 2024 on the major club and team competitions. One of the better way to do it of promoting its own products, strengthening their job and advertise itself further more on the market is through ticketing rights and branding.

Returning to his old job

Last weekend Ahmad Ahmad resumed to lead the African football confederation. Because the Madagascar official is accused that he abused power of office for personal gains from the world football organization, seven days ago the Court of arbitration for sport has temporarily cleared him of any wrongdoings. Doing this, the tribunal got more time to review the case thoroughly, and their final decision is expected before 12 March. The 61-year-old is vying and hoping to win another four years of presidency and for that to happen it needs to be proved that he is not corruptive.
Which football functionary is going to guide this continent as chairman until 2025, will be known in the congress at Morocco on the mentioned date.

Perfect team voted by fans, part two

After announcing best clubs from divisional parts of the continent, individual footballers for each positions, at the end was the question of who were the best overall in 2020 so that they could fit in one team. Thus seven days ago the Asian football confederation has released 11 names voted by spectators on their website.

News about an intercontinental club tournament

From this Thursday night the attention of this sport is going to be focused at Qatar, as the first official club intercontinental competition is going to kick off in 2021. Since 19 January (when it was the draw for the second round), three main things have happened about the Club World Cup event. Here will be written all those with few sentences.
On 23 January the organizers of the tournament has decided to let spectators into stadia. In two of them (which are situated in Al Rayyan) people may enter and fill it of up to 30 percent on its capacity. Because epidemiological rules are going to be very strict, those international fans upon arrival in the country have to give papers to authorities that they are not infected with the virus, although will be tested again at the airport.
Couple of days later came Ooredoo. The telecommunications company is going to be a proud sponsor at the edition number 17 on an event that is happening right in its own nation.
And finally, today was disclosed the last piece of the puzzle when the 138 players have been revealed to the public. Unfortunately, not all are going to participate on the field, but surely it is a great feeling to be a part of a tournament of whom (soon) will be completely destroyed. Each of the six clubs had to report 23 names, where can be seen or even download for personal use at the website of the world football organization.
