Next month, over six days and nights at the North, Central America and Caribbean confederation the youngest team tournament is going to resume its plays on the group phase. From 12 until 17 October 34 matches in total awaits us to be staged in the third and fourth round of the Nations league event. Increased prize money for the annual event
This year at the African team and club events the money was on the rise for the final two participants. Knowing this, last Monday it was announced that the Super Cup event have experienced this increasing as well.
Playing on a neutral place at 15 September between the Champions league and Confederations Cup winners from the 2022-23 season, Union sportive de la Medina d'Alger has lifted the trophy for the first time. Besides the title, the Confederations Cup champion has also received 500.000 dollars (467.420 euros), while the previous winner got 200.000 (193.829 euros). Al Ahly, who was the loosing side of the Super Cup competition, have collected 250.000 dollars (233.710 euros). In comparison, the runner-up for 2022 picked up 125.000 dollars (121.143 euros).

Officials have been selected
A record number of referees have been picked for the next Asian Cup 2023 (2024) competition that is going to kick off in January. From 18 member associations within the continent, 33 are main ones together with 37 assistants. If we add 4 more (2 for each role) standby officials we are getting the number of 74 names.
The full list of the men / women in blue can be download from the website of the Asian confederation.
One of the two debut things that are happening on the eighteenth edition is the following: a total of 5 women will appear at the event for the first time (2 main plus 3 assistants). While the other is that history is going to be made for the little monitors from above or we would observe them (video assistant referees) in all 50 games. Just for comparison, this digital system was also first introduced in United Arab Emirates four years ago, but from the quarter-final phase.

Just the remainder will have to be played
Twenty four hours after it was interrupted by its own fans, the Dutch football association has decided that Ajax and Feyenoord have to finish the match. However on Wednesday, 27 September from 14.00 local time the two clubs would play only 35 minutes, or it is going to be continued from that point in which this derby got suspended. Despite that this will be a shorter one, neither club is going to be cheered on by any spectator because they were ordered to play behind closed doors.
It was announced that the championship must be regular and fair, thus the winner have to be decided on the green terrain.

Confirmed pots
One of the two team tournament championships that is kicking off almost simultaneously in January next year is the African Cup of nations. And for the edition number 34, from three days ago the four pots have been released and those can be seen on the website of the organization. Based on the latest world rankings the 24 African teams in Abidjan on 12 October from 19.00 local time would find out in which six groups are going to reside, so that the hunt for the trophy can finally begin in less than four months time.

Klassieker suspended
The following lines tells a true story about a klassieker (classic) match that was played on Sunday, 24 September at one Northwestern European state where at the end it turned really ugly.
Nothing ever suggested that in the Dutch derby between Ajax and Feyenoord anything could go wrong. It was a peaceful start, the guests were well prepared, fought, gave three goals and then (suddenly) everything went awry in a matter of seconds.
The festivity of this duel was totally interrupted by the Ajax supporters where in their own stadium have made a real mess in the fifty fifth minute. A group of idiotic and dumb fans threw objects and flares on the terrain and like that has put the home club in difficult position where surely now awaits a punishment. During the first half this duel was already suspended twice because of pyrotechnics and a cup that was thrown on the pitch. However, the third time it was not that lucky that this would complete until the end as 10 minutes into the continuation flares were just poured onto the green field from the south F-side stand where home hooligans are situated. With no other option, the referee has definitely called off this duel. The chaos and violence were then transferred outside the arena.

Resigned from his post
After the inability to perform his work duties for the Spanish football federation, on 11 September Luis Rubiales has resigned as president. Being suspended and removed from this sport for three months, the 46-year-old official also has stepped down as vice president of the European football organization. Pedro Rocha is replacing him now as the new boss and the 68-year-old will perform this position until September 2024 when elections are going to be held for the next four year term.
The whole dust was raised when the ex-boss have kissed Jennifer Hermoso on her lips after the women team have become world champions last month, and some this was treating it as a sexist scandal and use of authority.

From 14 September it was announced all nominees that pretend to take 'The best' reward from the 2022-23 calendar season. Voting process of each one favourite player can be picked on the website of the world football confederation in various categories for both men and women. All winners on a world level are going to be crowned at the ceremony until the end of the year without a specific date given on when and where it might happen.

Searching for a slogan
Those who like to try its luck can participate in a quiz where at the end one lucky winner will wave us from Qatar.
At the beginning of next year the Asian Cup 2023 is going to kick-off, and the organizers from now are preparing themselves and are asking from the fans to circle a favourite motto which will be spoken for almost one month at the eighteenth edition of the competition. From 11 given options with taking part in a little quiz about the tournament everyone is going to hope to get the main prize: that phrase who will gather most votes with the help of answering all the questions correctly can win tickets for two of the opening match between Qatar and Lebanon on 12 January.
The whole process is going close on the tenth day (22 September) at the website of the confederation where all the votes would be summarized, while everything will be revealed on 04 October or in other words 100 nights before the main football fiesta kicks off on the continent.

Player with longest appearances in team
After he was being picked 137 times and giving 11 goals for his country Ildefons Lima unfortunately have said goodbye to the national team. Starting in 1997 with only 17 years of age he began to play at the 1:4 defeat against Estonia where at the same time it was the second official international game for the state. His career had lasted for 26 years and ended on Tuesday versus Switzerland when the 43-year-old defender was in the starting line-up who was substituted in the twenty third minute, and like that became the footballer that had the longest status in this sport on senior level.
Playing in the same match the captain of Andorra also became the oldest ever footballer to participate at qualifiers for the European championship.

Addiction from gambling has resulted a ban
Harry Toffolo is not some famous name in this sport, and lately this 28-year-old have send a message to his colleagues of what not to do.
Knowing that the English football association have strict rules about betting among footballers, it was determined that between January 2014 and March 2017 the Nottingham forest defender has gambled 375 times. Because of this greed from this Wednesday he got suspended until 17 January 2024 plus at the end had to say goodbye of 20.956 pounds (24.384 euros).

Incidents from the just finished qualifiers
In the just finished elimination games for the European championship 2024 in a space of five nights has happened 3 incidents.
With shouting and spreading banner "Kosovo je Srbija / (is Serbia)" a group of Romanian fans have caused disruption of their team playing against Kosovo that took place on 12 September. Because of this 'incident' the guests have walked away from the pitch in revolt while the referee had no other option but to suspend the game at minute 22. Without any success during the forced break all the home footballers and the announcer were begging with that group to remove the (controversial) banner, and that was done after the police has intervened. After the delay of 45 minutes this match has continued without any problems.
One night earlier 20 visiting spectators, which have bought their tickets on the black market, started a fight on the south stand against their Armenian counterparts in Yerevan during Armenia and Croatia game. Up to now there is no information for those (mysterious) persons nor they have been identified.
And when these plays began (in the fifth round, 07 September) in the sector where there were fans of Croatia was spotted a Ustasha flag when their team played against Latvia at home. Police have arrested three local citizens who now may face a fine from 260 to 1990 euros or face jail term of up to 30 days.
For all three above cases the European football organization has opened an investigation.
