Issued last fines for the championship

Although that it ended 14 July, the saga about the disastrous European championship have (been prolonged even longer and) continued 10 days later when the football organization punished 7 member associations, and for that purpose have collected a total amount of (sweet) 230,000 euros.
The highest fine of 50,000 was awarded to Croatia, Romania had to pay 40,000 euros, 4 teams have got a punishment of 30,000 euros each: Albania, Hungary, Serbia together with Slovenia, while Austria had to give away 20,000.
Main connection for all of them is one thing: racist and discriminatory behaviour from their fans at the event plus they are forbidden to sell tickets on their next visit (some for a probationary period of 1 or 2 years). Luckily, the septet will not have to wait for the next edition of this tournament to do that, but it will be transferred to the following official duels (Nations league competition which starts this fall).

Ideal 11 were revealed

At 14 July it has ended the European championship, while couple of days later the organizers have chosen the best team of the 2024 event (unfortunately without any substitutes). The perfect 11 is in formation 4-3-3, and the whole list can be seen on the website of the confederation.
Out of the 24 teams in it prevail the names from (only) 5 of them: 2 footballers are included from one team, 3 of their colleagues are from 3 different teams, while the rest (6 names) are from the new champions.

Numbers from three continental championships

This summer we have watched three tournaments and the ending result is that 2 teams successfully defended its trophies while 1 was a new champion of its confederation.
Between 15 and 30 June the Nations Cup at the Oceania region was played that has appeared for 11 times. Instead of 8 teams 7 continued with the competition and in those 16 days 46 goals were given or 3,54 per game. Twenty one of them was in the first half, while 25 were scored in the second. Players gave 4 targets in stoppage after the first 45 minutes, and 2 of them came after the minute 90. At this category New Zealand has rolled 3 balls behind the goalkeeper in stoppage time: 2 in the first and 1 in the second. There was 1 own goal. Referees was in the mood to give 2 penalties - both of them for Fiji. One punishment has hit the post, whilst no penalties got saved. Footballers has received 1 direct red card, and 2 yellows were not issued.
From 14 June until 14 July it supposed to be a pure holiday in the European continent for its championship. However, in general it turned out to be a complete disaster with some sleeping periods. In the end the trophy was awarded to the right team which achieved all 7 victories at the event and also played the best, entertaining football from the rest 23 (it will be a very miserable number if that is divided). In that (wasted) 1 month spectators on the European championship saw 117 goals which was equal to 2,29 per match. Eight times players have pushed the ball behind its own goalkeepers. After 45 the targets was 2, and from 90 until final whistle even 9 goals were given. Four penalties were converted, while 1 was perfectly saved. One direct red card was issued, and 2 footballers received double yellow cards.
And lastly, the oldest international tournament closed this team summer championships. Copa America was scheduled from 20 June until 14 July, and in it fans saw 69 targets that gave the decimal number of 2,16 per game or adding 1 more that was scored in extra time it got risen to 2,19 per game. Two were given after the 45, whilst 6 times the ball went into goal after second stoppage. Six punishments were converted into goals (Colombia had the most penalties from others - 3 times), 3 of them were missed the target while 1 was beautifully saved. We also have witnessed 1 own goal. Direct red cards that got issued to footballers are 6, while double yellow has received 2 of them.

Youngest ever records accomplished

In a catastrophic championship that is currently playing on the European continent one footballer has set couple of records.
With 16 years and 362 days Spanish striker Lamine Yamal became the youngest goal scorer in the history of this tournament. The target from the twentieth minute was an absolute beauty at the semifinal match against France which in this category beat the old record from Johan Volanthen (Switzerland) who at the event in 2004 had played with 18 years and 141 days.
Lamine Yamal also has become the youngest ever player to participate in these championships with 16 years and 338 days in a game against Croatia on 15 June or the youngest who had played in semifinals matches on big tournaments as well.

Fighting for the title

Unfortunately, the remained two continental team championships slowly enters into the last week of playing.

Three more duels have remained to kick off on the European continent. In a not so entertaining (catastrophic) championship and very poor results one of the four teams below will be crowned as new champions next weekend. Each of the games are having an identical start.

Semi - finals
09 July, Tuesday at 21.00 CEt: Spain - France.

10 July, Wednesday at 21.00 CEt: Netherlands - England.

Final
14 July, Sunday at 21.00 CEt: winners between the 2 semifinalists.

On the other part of the world Copa America has proven once again why it is a most successful competition than its predecessor. It is true that there are less teams at the event, but the quality of play, engagement, running, performance (and goals) are at a very high level (if not the best). Here the champion is still in contention of defending its title (with the same newcomer that has opened this event).

Semi - finals
10 July, Wednesday at 02.00 CEt:  Argentina - Canada.

11 July, Thursday at 02.00 CEt: Uruguay - Colombia.

Classification for place 3 - 4
14 July, Sunday at 02.00 CEt: losing teams from both semifinals.
