Nominees disclosed for an yearly award

Every year 'France football' is giving a prize for the best player of the season. We now know that we are going to have a new winner this year, because the defender of the prize from 2018 (Luka Modric) did not even enter among the following 30 names: Virgil van Dijk, Bernardo Silva, Heung-Min Son, Robert Lewandowski, Roberto Firmino, Alisson Becker, Cristiano Ronaldo, Matthijs de Ligt, Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappe, Georginio Wijnaldum, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Donny van de Beek, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Sadio Mane, Sergio Aguero, Hugo Lloris, Frenkie de Jong, Dusan Tadic, Lionel Messi, Riyad Mahrez, Kevin de Bruyne, Mohamed Salah, Marcos Aoas Correa (Marquinhos), Kalidou Koulibaly, Eden Hazard, Raheem Sterling, Joao Felix and Antoine Griezmann.
One of these competitors is going to win the Ballon d'Or trophy for 2019 from this magazine, who is also introducing a new category: the Yachine trophy for the best goalkeeper. Those players who are under 21 are having their own, separate award called the Kopa trophy.
All champions will be known at the ceremony in the French capital, Paris on 02 December.
