An annual competition squeezed in between

Starting from the second part of this month the penultimate elimination hurdle will end of the three European club competitions. And since all duels are second legs (unless otherwise stated) some of them may be prolonged even longer depending on the results from this week. But what is interesting enough is that one yearly game changes the fate of plays of one competition.

For the first (and only) time this season Champions league is being staged on one night. This unusualness lies in the following annual match.

Tuesday, 15 August at 19.00 CEt: Aris (Limassol) - Rakow.
Tuesday, 15 August at 19.00 CEt: Maccabi Haifa - Slovan.
Tuesday, 15 August at 19.00 CEt: Molde - KI.
Tuesday, 15 August at 19.00 CEt: Sparta Praha - Kobenhavn.
Tuesday, 15 August at 20.00 CEt: Dinamo Zagreb - AEK (Athens) [playing with the first 90 minutes].
Tuesday, 15 August at 20.00 CEt: Galatasaray - Olimpija.
Tuesday, 15 August at 20.00 CEt: Tsc - Braga.
Tuesday, 15 August at 20.30 CEt: Servette - Glasgow rangers.
Tuesday, 15 August at 20.30 CEt: Sturm - PSV.
Tuesday, 15 August at 21.00 CEt: Olympique de Marseille - Panathinaikos.

Saturday, 19 August at 20.45 CEt: AEK (Athens) - Dinamo Zagreb.

This is the reason why the predecessor have to complete its 10 games on only one night. Winners from the previous (2022-23) season of Champions and Europa league would meet each other in a single match just to determine the Super Cup 2023 champion.

Wednesday, 16 August at 21.00 CEt: Manchester city - Sevilla.

Last two club tournaments by significance always have the same night of play. One match is on schedule earlier, however the majority of them are played 48 hours later.
