Groups determined for round three

Unlike the hexagonal tournament which will start this fall in the CONCACAF region, today its similar event was drawn for Asia.
Twelve national sides, divided into six pots with two teams each, learned their fate with the continuation toward the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Playing in home and away games third round will start from August 2016 and will last until September 2017.

Group B:
6. Thailand
5. Iraq
4. United Arab Emirates
3. Saudi Arabia
2. Japan
1. Australia

Two group winners will qualify for the final tournament while third placed teams will go into the next stage where they will face each other.
