Current UEFA president and disgraced football official Michel Platini on 29 April is expecting positive news. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) have announced that date to be the final verdict for the Frenchman. He constantly denies receiving a 2 million Swiss francs (1.8 million euros) payment from FIFA boss Sepp Blatter. Both officials 'do not recollect' that ever happened and both of them are appealing the (reduced) six years ban from the sport in CAS.
Originally they got eight years punishment from (the harsh) FIFA, but because of their great services to the game, two years were written off. As neither one was satisfied they are now 'hungry' for the remaining six years.
Now the highest sporting court has exactly two weeks to decide whether to annul the charges against Platini or the suspension will stay in place.
