Refusing to participate

Most players are gladly accepting the call to play FRIENDLY games, while some are being too 'lazy' to even participate in the OFFICIAL ones.
Although they have been put on the preliminary list of 35 players for the African cup of nations, last week seven footballers from Cameroon are avoiding the call. The competition is starting on 14 January and is lasting three weeks, so the association, if they wish, can 'ask' FIFA to suspend them due to disobedience while the tournament is on. All these defiant footballers are playing in European clubs: Joel Matip (Liverpool), Allan Nyom (West Bromwich Albion), Guy Roland Ndy Assembe (Nancy), Maxime Poundje (Bordeaux), Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa (Marseille), Ibrahim Amadou (Lille) and Andre Onana (Ajax). In the end, Cameroonian coach Hugo Broos, has told the real reason of why this is happening: 'These players have put personal interest above those of the national team'.
