Same round, different leg

For the first time in the knockout stages both European cup competitions are playing identical round. It only differs on matches: the first one are playing return leg, while the second competition (and most interesting one) will play its first leg games. This only applies for next midweek, because the following everything will be equal.

After one week break, next week second leg will be played in the Champions league and first 4 quarter finalists will be revealed. All matches are starting, as usual, from 20.45 CET:

Tuesday, 07 March: Arsenal - Bayern Munich and Napoli - Real Madrid.

Wednesday, 08 March: Barcelona - PSG and Borussia Dortmund - Benfica.

From 3 time slots over 2 days at the previous stage, the second tournament returns with 2 time slots on the same day. Belgium has the highest number of teams in the competition with 3, followed by Russia and Germany who have 2. What is interesting (maybe for some) teams from two pairs are playing against each other which are from the same country (and that is not fun at all). If you are still thinking that you are watching games from national championships from Belgium and Germany you are mistaken: this is the Europa league.

Thursday, 09 March at 19.00 CET: APOEL Nicosia - Anderlecht.
Thursday, 09 March at 19.00 CET: FC Copenhagen - Ajax.
Thursday, 09 March at 19.00 CET: Rostov - Manchester United.

Thursday, 09 March at 21.05 CET: Celta Vigo - Krasnodar.
Thursday, 09 March at 21.05 CET: Gent - Genk.
Thursday, 09 March at 21.05 CET: Olympiacos - Besiktas.
Thursday, 09 March at 21.05 CET: Olympique Lyon - Roma.
Thursday, 09 March at 21.05 CET: Schalke 04 - Borussia Moenchengladbach.
