Two days ago the European football organization has revealed three candidates, who are competing for best position in this sport for 2017-18 season. Unfortunately, all 12 players are coming from the 'strongest competition', so this applies only for the Champions league. On 30 August in Monaco will be the draw for the group stages for the new 2018-19 season, plus on that date we are going to learn the winners as well. Thirty two coaches who took part at the tournament last season are going to vote, and three nominees for each four places in football are:
Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker (playing at the time for Roma), Gianluigi Buffon (playing at the time for Juventus), Keylor Navas (Real Madrid).
Defenders: Marcelo (Real Madrid), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Raphael Varane (Real Madrid).
Midfielders: Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City), Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), Luka Modric (Real Madrid).
Forwards: Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Cristiano Ronaldo (playing at the time for Real Madrid), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool).
