Bidding process to host future continental tournament

On 26 August it was confirmed that Qatar officially became the candidate to host the Asian Cup event at 2027. This is the fifth country who have shown interest to welcome the best 24 teams of the continent in seven years time from now: India and Islamic Republic of Iran both submitted its intention to be host in April, while Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan are competing for the rights to stage this competition on its soil for the first time. Winner of which nation is going to host the major tournament in the confederation will be known in 2021.
