Pulled out before it even began

After not playing elimination matches for the African Cup of nations 2023, one East African country is going to repeat the same thing.
For the second consecutive time Eritrea will not play qualifiers for a major tournament. On 02 November it was announced that the team would have to pull out from the elimination duels of the World Cup 2026 because the Commissioner of the national association has forbid them to participate. Next Wednesday this continent kicks-off the (long) journey towards the finals, so instead of six teams group E will resume with five.
This is the first withdrawal that some team has made for this cycle.
