Racist comment

It was supposed to be a joke, but at the end he was being penalized just like that - out of nothing.
In a one man show in Wolverhampton, England former international Paul Gascoigne did a terrible mistake, which later cost him dearly - 2.600 pounds (3.029 euros). On a stage and in front of more than 1.000 people, the 49 year old humiliated a black bodyguard, Errol Rowe, who was standing in the shadows, by saying 'Can you smile so I can see you?'. The victim left upset and angry, went home and cried.
In talks with the police Gazza said that he immediately apologized and did not try to insult anyone, but it was way too late for that, and the damage has already been done. As all those apologies did not help him, he had to pay 1.000 pounds (1.165 euros) fine, another 1.000 pounds to Rowe (1.165 euros) and 600 pounds (699 euros) for court costs.
