An interesting schedule with couple of derbies

It is time for day two to resume at the Asian World Cup qualifiers. As always, all six matches are on on the same day and late at night we will know who made a little progress at this early phase.

- Iraq - Saudi Arabia. As Saudi Arabia did not impress on day one last Thursday, this is a perfect opportunity for Iraq to record its first three points. We can say that these two teams are fairly equal and it can go on either way. If Iraq wants to make a improvement they should win this game but the Saudis will hold them back and each will take a point.
- PR China - IR Iran. The day's second game can easily be marked as a derby. China's comeback last week did not go well so desperately need a win to get on the right track. But Iran is a tough team and no matter where they play they always go for a victory. Despite China's big wish to grab this match, the visitors might steal this away with a goal advantage.
- Syria - South Korea. Another tough rival for the hosts who must record a victory. After the unfortunate loss in the opening day, in the second leg Syria is facing South Korea who is considered one of the favorites to go to the finals. Many are predicting that Syria cannot reach the tempo from this group. However if they repeat last round performance the team can prove them wrong. But in current form, South Koreans might prove to be too strong and write their second victory.
- Thailand - Japan. Japan's surprise loss at home at the opener has turn out to be a disaster and now, five days later, they want to restore some pride. Thailand can give them a scare and shake them little bit, but 'dreadful first day Japan' has to forget last week, start over, need to find their composure and write first points.
- United Arab Emirates - Australia. They overcame the first hurdle without any 'difficulties', but to jump the second one that 'easily'? No one would want to think what will come next. Australia only wants to add another three points on their account while UAE will not give up without a fight. This match can be entertaining and the points will be divided - equally.
- Qatar - Uzbekistan. At the international friendlies this summer, Qatar has shown up that it can be a solid team and may be considered as one of the favorites to go to Russia. Uzbekistan can be tricky opponent. specially when they play away from home. However, Qatar will want more than the visitors to add their first points in this last Asian World Cup qualifying game for September.
