Last Tuesday two neighboring clubs have avoided each other not to go to court, thanks to mutual agreement.
The whole thing started at the beginning of June when hooligans attacked Sporting Clube de Portugal players while training. One of those injured footballers was Gelson Martins who immediately after the incident wanted to leave, terminate the contract on the detriment of the team. The 23-year-old has picked Atletico Madrid as his new home, but the Portuguese club claimed that the midfielder broke the deal and demanded compensation of 100 million euros.
Knowing that, pulling each other in courts would not be helpful for neither party, at the end Atletico Madrid has agreed to pay 30 million euros.
