New club competition to be launched

Twenty clubs from Central America will have its honour to compete in the first tournament that would happen in exactly two months time.
Simply called the Central American Cup these clubs that are going to enter in the opening edition based on the performance through their domestic leagues from seven countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. On 08 June the four groups of five teams have to be determined after which whole August would be a playing month. Knockout stages (quarter-finals, semi-finals and play-in) will start on 26 September while everything has to end on 07 December.
In total six clubs are going to enter in the North, Central America and Caribbean version of Champions league, whilst the winner of this competition (Central American Cup) is going to rest and qualify directly at the knockout phase of the mentioned Champions league (round of 16).
