The founder of Eleven sports network Andrea Radrizzani and Matteo Manfredi have officially acquired Sampdoria, thus the duo denied the Italian club to be transferred to fourth division and saved it from bankruptcy. Although the sum was not disclosed, last Tuesday evening both investors have agreed to purchase the team from Massimo Ferrero who was the boss from June 2014.
In recent months the economic conditions had worsened so the club did not pay salaries to its employees and players. Because of these debts from next season at Serie B (second division) the club will start with minus four points.
