In the most boring story nowadays (of tax evasion), the new Juventus player was accused of arrogating 5.7 million euros of illegal tax money from 2011 until 2014 in Spain. Thus he made a deal with the authorities and finally this case is over (for now): yesterday it was announced that the 33-year-old have to pay 3.2 million euros plus receiving 2 years of suspended jail sentence. Since it is the first offence, luckily the Portuguese star cannot be behind bars for the second scenario. Instead, everyday he has to say goodbye to 250 euros for a period of 48 months.
Those who are better with mathematics and wants to play with numbers can summarize what this player has to give away overall: 3.2 million euros for punishment + 5.7 million euros in back taxes + 1 million euros in accrued interest + 250 euros daily in 48 months for the prison sentence. The end figure is stunning: Cristiano Ronaldo will be poor for around 19 million euros due to this tax oblivion.
