On 09 October the draw was conducted for the qualifiers of the European championship 2024, and after it one nation is facing (serious) problems of where to welcome their opponent.
In the ninth group there are six teams in which immediately arise a dilemma: Romania has been paired with Kosovo. This probably means nothing, however the first state does not recognize the second as independent one. Last Tuesday it was confirmed that the federation are in talks with the government to solve this situation. A solution must be found as there are (only) three options: permitting footballers from Kosovo to play on Romanian soil, moving this duel to neutral place or losing all three points (which is not advisable).
