Many European unrecognized regions are playing official games within the continent for different tournaments, but there is one and very rare (on this planet) that is allowed to play with countries from other confederations.
Usually most of its games are staged in December, but this year it will be a lot sooner. On the last day of February Euskadi, which translates to Basque, football federation have announced that its team is going to meet Uruguay on 23 March at the Athletic Bilbao arena San Mames. This autonomous region from northern Spain can participate only in friendly games because the Spanish football federation itself is blocking them to become members of either European or world football organization.
Last duel of friendly nature that this team has played and won 2:1 was with Costa Rica in November 2020.
