Albanian champion thrown out from Europe

Because of a match fixing scandal Skenderbeu will not participate in the new Champions league season. UEFA has thrown out the Albanian champion over match fixing and under urgent matter the Court of Arbitration for Sport just confirmed the verdict. Because the team knew the results upfront this means that they are out from this season's Champions league, which they had to play its first game next Wednesday against Ferencvaros from the second qualifying round. It is now more likely that Hungarian champions will receive a bye i.e. it will rest at this stage.
