Greed for extra profit has slowly transferred among the footballers as well. Although players are not allowed placing bets on matches, they continue to do so (shamelessly).
The new 'hero on betting fever' has become Ivica Olic. Earning his salary at Munich 1860, ex-Croatian international allegedly was betting from 26 August until 11 September. Olic put his money on 9 second Bundesliga division matches.
The 37 year old, who has been punished by German FA, gets two match suspension and 20.000 euro fine. But the problem will not go away that easily as now the club can penalize him as well and could also be 'forced resting' from games.
