Lost their spot in court

On 06 January three clubs from Islamic Republic of Iran were forbidden to participate in Champions league who is commencing with qualifiers from next Tuesday for the new season. Esteghlal, Gol gohar and Persepolis have failed to receive licence to compete at the Asian version of the event, and the confederation has said that they had "not satisfied all of the mandatory criteria" concerning safety, financial and legal issues.
After this decision the first team has appealed to the highest sporting tribunal. They have at least tried to overturn this judgment at the Court of arbitration for sport, where, unfortunately, seven days ago has rejected them, which means this big name will be absent and not compete in the 2022 tournament.
