TV rights tender in Argentina

Because of a long crisis in the domestic football league, Argentinian government re-opens up TV bids for the next three seasons. Current contract by the Argentine FA expires in 2019 called 'Futbol para todos' (Football for all), but in order to earn more money the government plans to offer a tender for those interested TV media houses who wants to cover the championship. For the first six months of this year the government have spent 761 million pesos (47.7 million euros). There are many media houses who have shown interest broadcasting local games as Turner, group made by DirecTV, Clarin Group and Torneos ; Arabian Al Jazeera together with Uruguayan businessman and FOX are mentioned. For the international market IMG from USA and Spanish MediaPro are among the bidders. If the plan succeeds the government could get an yearly income from two to three billion pesos (125 to 188 million euros).
