Money problems for ex-Dutch champions

Unless the club finds a quick solution for their financial troubles, FC Twente Enschede has been provisionally promoted to Holland's Eerste divisie (second division). In December Dutch FA (KNVB) banned the club for appearing at the European cup competitions for three years and fined them with 200.000 euros. Since then, KNVB has punished Twente deducting points on numerous occasions over a deal to sell player transfer fee (gaining percentage) rights to Malta based investment company Doyen Sports. As that is not allowed under KNVB regulations, the association showed no mercy but to throw Twente out from Eredivisie. At the same time Twente has lost its license after the club has a debt of 32 million euros. That is why the Enschede club needs quick financial recovery plan before Dutch professional players' council decide that the KNVB's proposal is final. The clubs management was 'shocked, disappointed and full of disbelief' by KNVB.
In 2010 the club was Dutch champions while the following season they were vice-champions. This will lead to chaos for the relegation place as Willem II or De Graafschap (one of these two teams) will remain in the top flight, even if they lose from NAC Breda or Go Ahead Eagles.
