Concerns about poor treatment

After Friday's tragic death of Patrick Ekeng in Bucharest the world players' union (FIFPro) showed very serious concerns about the treatment in Romania. Cameroonian midfielder collapsed onto the pitch in the second half, eight minutes after he entered the game and two hours later he was pronounced dead with the cause of heart attack. During that treatment he received is under investigation and FIFPro is criticizing about how players have poor treatment on the stadiums. 'It is clear that some Romanian clubs have a history of skimping on medical facilities' said in a FIFPro statement. Romanian member at FIFPro AFAN asked the national federation that it is mandatory for clubs to have fully equipped ambulances on all official and friendly games. 'It would have cost as little as 400 euros per club per match to have state-of-the-art equipment available but the plan was not adopted. Instead, clubs in the top three divisions have been allowed to have ambulances with minimal equipment' said AFAN president Emilian Hulubei.
Out of respect for the 26 year old Cameroonian midfielder, Dinamo Bucharest will withdraw number 14 shirt.
