World Cup joint bids back in fashion

After yesterday's statement from the new CONCACAF elected president Victor Montagliani that he would like his region to host the 2026 World Cup, today from Mexico City came the news that Mexico and USA are considering to join forces and bid together for that year. And what is most important is that the offer is backed up by FIFA president Gianni Infantino. As Mexico considered to be the largest Central American country together with largest country in the North - Unites States of America, this two huge territories means that FIFA will have great financial potential in of the region. With millions and millions of fans plus profitable television and commercial rights as part of the market.
Last join bid was in 2002, where South Korea co-hosted the World Cup with Japan. May 2020 will be the date where it will determine the host. Earlier this week FIFA has said that candidates must go through three stages with final (fourth) decision will be known for 2026.
