From May the European football organization officially left without a president and Slovenian chief Aleksander Ceferin has formally announced his candidacy for UEFA's president after plenty of countries are giving him support. Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland) were among the first to back him and then Italy join the party. And from Tuesday, the 48 year old gathered more votes. At the regional meeting in Moscow, Russia the group of southeast European football associations decided that the following FA's pledged to support him: Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, FYR Macedonia, Albania, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece and Turkey. 'Following the support of 12 new national associations, Aleksander Ceferin has decided to run for the office of UEFA president' Slovenian FA wrote on its twitter account.
Ceferin is a lawyer specializing on professional athletes and sports clubs.
