Expensive TV rights in Germany

TV rights for both national championships in Germany are on a rise by 85% and companies will have to give 4.64 billion euros. Starting from 2017/18 season the four year TV deal will cost 1.16 billion euros per year.
As before, all matches will remain on German package Sky and national free-to-air station ZDF got the rights to show three matches, including the opener of the season. A newcomers to the market is pay service channel Eurosport which already have shown Bundesliga in previous years on its second channel. The pan European network has secured exclusive rights for 43 matches in a season.
