African continent mourn over one of the great football star on its soil. Ex-Nigeria coach and captain Stephen Keshi has suddenly died from a cardiac arrest. He passed away in the early hours on Wednesday morning in Benin City, southern Nigeria. His friends stated that Keshi had no previous heart problems and was in good health.
He coached Togo, Mali but most of his career he was in his native Nigeria. As a player Keshi played for clubs in Belgium, France and Malaysia in his 20 year long career and appeared 64 times for his country - from 1981 to 1995. He was also part Nigeria team where they won Africa Cup of Nations in 1994. In 2014 Nigeria made it to the knockout stage of the World Cup. Under Keshi's guidance the Super Eagles won the 2015 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, making him only the second person who have won the event as a player and coach.
He was named the 'Big Boss' for his leadership skills. Keshi was 54.
