Humane gesture from their opponents

Nigeria today deservedly won against Iceland, but before this duel one case was related to both these teams.
Before the World Cup began, Carl Ikeme was the first-choice goalkeeper of the African team. Unfortunately, leukemia (leukaemia) has prevented the 32-year-old to be present in Russia. To show their full support the Icelandic players have been photographed with their shirt and his name was printed as number 1, while all are sending him best wishes and speedy recovery.
On social media this picture was shared by Jon Dadi Bodvarsson (who is also holding the jersey), which was colleague with the goalkeeper in Wolverhampton. 'I am wishing him all the best from the squad, and it just shows that football is one big family that will stick together. Even though we are playing against him, of course, this is just much bigger than football.', said the manager of Iceland Heimir Hallgrimsson.
