Champions League not profitable enough for English clubs?

Are English clubs turning their back on the Champions League? Every competitive year in the main European competition the strongest Premier League clubs are not even close of winning the trophy, not to mention defeating their gigantic opponents in the likes of Bayern Munich, Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris St. Germain...As they did not achieve anything (significant results) in past years or even decades, they are now thinking of forming their own league which will be much more profitable than the Champions League...and its going to be just for them!
Officials from the big five clubs - Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal were involved in a secret meeting in London where the future of the Champions League was being raised. Representatives from Arsenal Ivan Gazidis, Chelsea's Bruce Buck, Manchester City's Ferran Soriano, Manchester United's Ed Woodward and Liverpool's Ian Ayre were all present today and invited by American billionaire Stephen Ross. Reportedly Ross is planning to be initiator to end the dominating Champions League. If all of them are constantly playing every year, then its simple: all of the five above mentioned clubs want to improve their financial situation from which, so far, they are loosing certain amount of money.
On the other hand FIFA has threaten everyone who will break forming this Super League. At the end we are only asking: what is the point of playing national championship?
