Lazio could be in further trouble

The European football governing body confirmed yesterday that it will start disciplinary proceedings on Lazio over alleged racist chanting from its fans. On Thursday's first leg game in Czech Republic the Italians drew 1:1 with Sparta Prague, where the game was stopped midway through the first half for a minute. The controversial moment could clearly be heard on TV replay when Costa took a throw-in and than the player complained to the referee, who was then seen talking to the UEFA official. Costa Nhamoinesu, a black Zimbabwean Sparta Prague player, was mocked by the fanatical fans.
UEFA will take a hearing on Lazio for 'racist behavior' and 'inappropriate banner' on 22 March, only 5 days before the teams' return leg in Italy.
