Kosovo awaits decision

Part from Serbia, Kosovo is still hoping to become a new UEFA member. After so many unsuccessful attempts this region is fighting to be admitted as a fifty-fifth nation in the organization. European football governing body will decided on 03 May whether Kosovo will be allowed to compete under its jurisdiction. If UEFA is going to approve the admission then Kosovo could enter the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying games, although the groups are already determined last year. After the UEFA's approval this region is expected immediately to seek full membership in FIFA.
Kosovo currently has limited freedom of action. In January 2014 FIFA allowed them to play international friendlies with the restriction of symbols usage. Serbia is resisting Kosovo's membership in all international organizations as the region declared unilateral independence in 2008.
