Football revolution

Football will experience perhaps the biggest innovation since the creation of sport: referees will be allowed to use video recordings during the game. The International Football Association Board (IFAB) who determines the laws of the game, has given green light to video technology.
This will help the referees of allowing questionable goals, red cards, penalties and mistaken identity. Thirteen leagues already have taken interest of testing the new system. On Saturday, IFAB has approved trial period used to help referees that will start from 2017/18 season. First will be followed by a testing period, all as part of innovations introduction promised by the new FIFA president Gianni Infantino who from the press conference at Cardiff said that 'we have taken really a historic decision for football'. Testing will come into effect 01 June, just before the European Championship. The video trials were approved unanimously by the 8 IFAB voters.
Four years ago IFAB has also approved the goal-line technology.
