Clubs from two Asian countries can not host games against each other in Champions League

On the last day in the first knock-out round of the European Champions League we have some news on the same competition but from the Asian continent.
The Asian Champions League has said today that clubs from Saudi Arabia and IR Iran will have to play its games on neutral ground. The decision came after these two countries worsened their political relations in January. The Asian football governing body had set a deadline until 15 March for the relations to be normal again. Because the situation is unresolved and with still no positive development of doing so, AFC took this precaution primarily for security concerns for the players and the fans. Saudi Arabian government has not yet lifted their travel restrictions on its citizens for travelling to IR Iran. However this ban does not apply for football teams.
Last month a high official from Iranian champions Sepahan commented that IR Iran might withdraw its teams from the competition if they were blocked from hosting games against Saudi Arabian clubs.
