Quitting the competition

Last weekend Mexican FA has announced that its clubs will abandon the Copa Libertadores tournament next season. The event will expand to a new format and the clubs have made this decision as there was not enough free space on both sides. If the schedule will be adjusted from CONMEBOL the Mexican teams can be seen in 2018. Until now Mexican teams were only invitees for Copa Libertadores editions. Now the focus will be restructuring CONCACAF Champions league.
