Bank goes to court

First and large US bank, Citigroup has said that it has received subpoena from federal prosecutors over the FIFA bribery scandal. From May last year the worlds football governing body was on the brink of biggest corruption charges in its 112 years old history from former executives of the organization and some entities. Several banks were included in the report by the prosecutors. Besides Citigroup, HSBC and JPMorgan Chase were also included, where FIFA officials used them for transferring cash. While JPMorgan did not reveal any investigation in its operations, last week HSBC admitted that is being investigated for its role in the FIFA scandal.
Being under investigation does not mean that the prosecutors immediately will bring charges towards the banks.
