Former Bulgarian player has died

Ex-Bulgarian legendary footballer Trifon Ivanov, has died today aged 50 from heart attack. Played as a defender from the famous, golden generation of Bulgarian football, which in the 1994 World Cup took forth place previously eliminating powerhouses Mexico and Germany. He appeared in the 1998 World Cup as well, EURO 1996, and also he played for Real Betis, Neuchatel Xamax, Rapid Austria, Rapid Vienna, as well as Etar and CSKA Sofia in an early phase of his career in Bulgaria. 'Trifon Ivanov will remain in the history of Bulgarian football as one of the best defenders. We will all mourn the loss of a true friend. Rest in peace, Trifon', a Bulgarian FA said in the statement.
He collected 77 appearances for his country. The Bulgarian Football Union called him one of the best Bulgarian players ever. Because of his character Ivanov was the favorite specially from the sticker album collectors, for which he was once called 'Bulgarian Wolf'.
