'You cannot buy a World Cup'

Suspended FIFA president Sepp Blatter has repeated that corruption was out of the question over the election process of the 2022 World Cup host city. Many officials are seeing that Qatar actually fixed the vote and many are questioning whether this tiny Asian nation, with no football history, can actually host a big tournament football event on a world level. Since then, this decision sparked the crisis in which FIFA is today.
In the 'Times' interview Blatter stated that the former French president Nicolas Sarkozy told Platini not to vote for USA during the election process from which the famous player has denied that. Among other things, the 79 year old Swiss said 'You cannot buy a World Cup, it will go at the end where the higher political influences are. Platini was at a meeting with the head of state and if he is asking me to support France for different reasons than he must follow the decision and his (Platini) vote will not be for the Americans. I knew there would be a problem, but it was too late'.
This week Blatter returned to FIFA's headquarters, but not to sit in his favorite chair, as his appeal against an 8 year ban was heard.
