FIFA fines Latin American FAs

Five Latin American countries have been fined by FIFA on Wednesday for homophobic chants. Fans from Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Peru and Uruguay insulted and discriminated gay population during qualifying games for the 2018 FIFA World Cup late last year. Chile was severely fined with 70.000 Swiss francs (64.200 euros) for cases in 4 different games. Argentina, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay are also penalized and will have to pay 20.000 Swiss francs (18.340 euros). Also FIFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Honduras FA for the same reason.
