After being suspended with his 'teammate' Blatter for 8 years from football, Frenchman Michel Platini has formally withdraws his bid for FIFA presidency. Disgraced from its long term ban he will now dedicate himself to overturning his suspension in further courts. Because time is too short for the election date, he officially has said 'bye bye to FIFA and the presidency' for the French sport newspaper L'Equipe, which this interview will be published in whole on Friday's edition.
With the favorite Platini now out of the picture, Jordanian Prince Ali has most chances to be at the helm of FIFA from 26 February.
