Impressive statistics from the best two rivals in Spain

Lionel Messi scored a goal on Saturday's 2:1 home win against Atletico Madrid. That is nothing new. On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo still have to play on Sunday against Espanyol. Probably the best two players at the moment in Spain's La Liga have scored exactly 1.000 goals, both for club and country.
Messi's strike this weekend gives him 433 goals for Barcelona, but in total the Argentina international have 482 goals. His hot rival Ronaldo has 518 career goals, from which most of them were scored for Real Madrid - 340. For that achievement Real Madrid star needed 773 games against 612 from the Argentine. In this way they scored 74 hat-tricks (38 for Ronaldo with 36 for Messi). On average Argentina international netted 0.79 goal in every game up against 0.67 from the Portuguese. Both of them collected 42 trophies (26 for Messi and 16 has Ronaldo). However, given the fact of how dominant these two are in the field speaks the following: from last 10 Ballon d'Or awards, 'only' 8 trophies are collected by these duo - 5 for Messi up against Ronaldo's 3.
Really impressive numbers by those two!!! In any case, whether we like them or not, we have to enjoy it while we can because the real question is when it will be 'normal' again that any football player reaches 50 goals per season.
