Former Bayern Munich president on early release

Ex-Bayen Munich president Uli Hoeness will be released from prison halfway through his 42-month sentence. Former West Germany idol who was sentenced to three and a half years behind bars will be released on 29 February although he will be placed under probation for three years. The 64-year old was sent in prison in March 2014 after being found guilty of seven counts of tax evasion in which he defrauded authorities of a total of 28.5 million euros. Having started his sentence on 02 June 2014, Hoeness will leave custody next month after serving 637 days, not thought to be at risk of reoffending. During the day he was serving sentence working in the young Bayern Munich side, while spending nights in jail in Augsburg. He has been spending weekends at home.
From 2009 he was the president of Bayern Munich up until his resignation shortly after he was found guilty. However, the German side have not ruled out his return to the club.
