Ex-Colombia goalkeeper hospitalized

Legendary Colombia goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon is in hospital after trying to commit suicide. Valle del Lili clinic in his hometown of Cali reported that Mondragon has been admitted after suffering a 'metabolic imbalance'. His condition is stable but will still be in hospital under medical observation, without telling when he will be released.
This shocking news came hours after the goalkeeper posted a concerning message on Instagram, which has since been deleted. He wrote 'there is only me who can judge my life and I am tired of being judged by others without the possibility of defending myself' just before the accident. Colombian media suggested that he had taken large dose of antidepressants.
With 43 years and three days Faryd Monragon is the oldest player ever to play in the World Cup 2014 where Colombia beat Japan 4:1. The 44-year old goalkeeper played for his native club Deportivo Cali, Real Zaragoza, Metz, but the biggest mark left in Galatasaray. He is now retired from football and started working as an analyst in Colombia last year.
