Hawit extradited to US

Alfredo Hawit was extradited to USA by the Swiss authorities. President of Confederation on North Central America and Caribbean Football (CONCACAF) and FIFA vice president was arrested 03 December in Zurich on corruption charges. Along with other Latin America officials, Hawit is accused of taking bribes in exchange for awarding marketing contracts. On Wednesday the Honduras chief pleaded not guilty in the New York court on the multi-million dollar bribery scheme. The 64 year old Hawit was among 41 people charged in the probe over corruption in the worlds' football governing body.Twelve people and 2 sports marketing companies have already pleaded guilty.
However Julio Rocha, Costas Takkas and Rafael Esquivel who were arrested in Zurrich in May remain in Swiss custody.
