European major tournaments gets goal-line technology

On Monday it was announced by 'Sky Sports', today has just been confirmed: there will be goal-line technology for major European competitions. UEFA executive committee has announced today that this technology will be placed on EURO 2016 final tournament in France and from next season (2016/17) in the Champions League from the play-off onwards. It was also decided that its second club competition, Europa League, will also get this technology in place but from next footballing season (2017/18) starting from the group stage. However, two additional assistant referees beside each goal will stay in place in order to control the situation in and around the penalty area.
Michel Platini was against the introduction of this expensive technology by saying that it will harm the integrity of the game. But on Gianni Infantino's proposal, UEFA has decided to accept it today. The European football governing body also decided today to back the Swiss for FIFA presidency.
